Dr. Rada Panich, ACVD Board-certified, Veterinary Dermatologist

A veterinary dermatologist is a doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic conditions and diseases of the skin, hair, ear and nails. Specialty board organizations in human and veterinary medicine were established following rapid advances in medical knowledge. In order to become board-certified the doctor must complete a one-year internship, a two-year residency and a rigorous multi-day examination administered by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. While the general practitioner deals with most routine skin problems, in certain cases, there is a need for the attention and skill of a specialist.

Dr. Rada Panich has been board certified by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) since 1992. She completed her residency at The New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University; Ithaca, N.Y. Dr. Panich has been in private dermatology practice in the New York City and Long Island area since 1991.She has authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters on canine and feline skin diseases. Her expertise includes managing chronic allergic dermatitis, recurrent infections and autoimmune disorders.
